For ERA’s fifteenth anniversary, we built an interactive timeline where visitors can scroll through its history and watch investment and impact grow year by year.

How do you show the depth of a company’s fifteen-year history on one page?

ERA’s story starts before its name. It began in 2009 as the Climate Change and Emissions Management Corporation before rebranding in 2016. Over the years, its history took shape across press releases, annual reports and project announcements. For its 15th anniversary, ERA wanted to bring that history together in a way people could explore online, alongside the documentary Sticks & Stones produced for the same milestone.

We built a single scrolling page that treats each year as its own chapter, tracing ERA’s story from the first emissions regulation in 2007 through to 2024. As visitors scroll, counters tracking projects, investment, total project value and emissions reductions grow alongside the timeline, bringing ERA’s progress into view. A year selector also lets visitors jump straight to the period they’re interested in.

Integrated footage: Short clips from the documentary introduce many of the timeline’s yearly chapters, carrying the film’s visual style into the web experience. The full documentary is also embedded at the top of the page for anyone who wants to watch it from beginning to end.

Counters that grow with the story: Four headline figures, tracking the number of projects, ERA’s investment, total project value and cumulative emissions reductions, update as each year comes into view. Rather than presenting impact as a single number, the timeline shows how it builds over time.

The ERA15 documentary tells ERA’s story as a film, while the timeline offers another way to explore its history, at your own pace.
